Of pipes, cables and concrete
10th February 2019
No apologies for starting with yet another view of RS8 from the adjacent landing - as it gradually returns to its former glory.
Of shunts and tours
2nd September 2018
Feast or famine – at least as far as pictures go. Last week I had a load – this week? Rather less.
Of no fun in the snow
18th March 2018
Two weeks to Easter and we've snow everywhere.
Of anti-biotics and bus bars
14th January 2018
I decided to give Mr Strawbridge's antics a miss tonight. As a friend commented, he'd watched it last week but with gritted teeth. I knew exactly what he meant and I have no wish to return prematurely to my dentist.
Of out with the old...
31st December 2017
Christmas is over and even the year is drawing to a close. We're not ones to take these annual events too seriously, but there is a bottle of Bucks Fizz somewhere downstairs that might be appropriate.
Of Team Tarmac
6th August 2017

Of Crewe, Severn and South Wales
23rd July 2017
No, not a hitherto unknown Col Stephens type railway but a selection of visitors that have passed through our doors this week.
Of landmarks and sand-castles
9th July 2017

Of dust and panel
2nd July 2017
We are now into the second half of the year, the nights have started to draw in, tennis is about to monopolise our screens (boo!, unless you're into Andy Murray et al, in which case Hooray) and this blog is nearing its seventh anniversary.
Of tanks and buffers
25th June 2017
Nearly half-way through 2017 and where has it all gone? I've started getting letters telling me that I need to make a decision about when and how I take my state pension, a point in life - retirement - that I have long concluded could never happen since Barclays Bank made 'an unfortunate mistake' in 2001 and forced Yorkshire Engine Co into Liquidation. But oh dear, some of their senior executives may be in legal trouble, it was announced this week. I must have a whip-round for them. Anyone got a whip?
